2. Financial report:

    • Fund Balance Report, Balance Sheet, and a Profit and Loss YTD Comparison were presented for the past month.
    • A large deposit was made due to the influx of 2007 invoices

3. Security:

There were more incidences of shooting at and destroying windows at the Hampton Mansion. The vandalism occurred between 10pm-1am. The perpetrators appear to walk onto the park rather than drive. Watchful Eyes reported no incidents during the month of December. The board will look at including more evening patrols, especially into the summer. Laurie will contact Jim directly to discuss incidences at the park in more detail. A motion was approved to put the Hampton mansion incidents on the website.

4. Update on Greystone Development Injunction:

As of the date of the meeting (1/10/07) the injunction against construction of a second house had not yet been filed. In a discussion with Livio Mr. Walsh, who is representing the HIA and Plat I residents, had indicated he hoped to have the matter filed that week and would be contacting Ms. Von Lunz for an affidavit in support of the action.

5. GTCC Representative:

GTCC Representative is still needed to attend monthly meetings and represent the interest of the residents of Towson.  Also, at 7:30pm Tuesday evening the Urban Design Assistance Team will be speaking at the Towson Maryland Presbyterian Church regarding making Towson more walkable.

6.Support for Legislation granting standing to Community and Homeowner Associations:
The Falls Road Community Association is seeking support from area associations for legislation to empower Community and Homeowner Associations. Senator Jim Brochin supported a measure in the State Senate. The board agreed that it supports the basic principle of the working bill; the board will invite its advocate to attend an HIA meeting in order to better inform the board as to the details of the bill.

7. Nominating Committee:
Yara Cheikh agreed to chair the nominating committee for the upcoming 2007-8 slate of officers and board members. The newsletter will have a piece requesting volunteers.

8. Speed Reduction Update:

Pat did not report any new news. Future recommendations would be forthcoming.

9. Newsletter Articles Deadline:

The deadline for submissions to the newsletter is February 17, 2007. Submissions should be sent to Geraldine.diamond@LFG.com. Gerri mentioned that the newsletter will report on the success of the BSO’s Home for the Holidays in Hampton, the homeowners association working bill and two surveys regarding possible mosquito control and traffic concerns. The December/January newsletter was just mailed out. The suggestion was made that the mosquito and traffic surveys could be viewed on http://www.surveymonkey.com and the link could then be disseminated via email. Gerri will also offer a fax number by which residents can send their surveys. too.

10. Old/New Business:

a. Rae Ann explained that she and Mary Ellen Scheeler would be offering suggestions for the maintenance and landscaping of 502A Hampton Lane. Both women completed a training course and are recognized wildlife federation stewards. The Chesapeake Bay Foundation will be approached for a grant to cover expenses. Rae Ann needs information regarding access for mowing, walk-throughs and easement verification before finalizing plans.

b. Rae Ann suggested that a Providence Volunteer Fire Department representative be put on a future agenda. It was suggested that a representative come speak at the Annual May Meeting in order to explain the costs and details of the fire department’s new extension.

c. Livio will contact Jan Hudson to begin organizing the annual meeting.

Motion to adjourn approved.
