Neighborhood Events
The Hampton Improvement Association organizes many wonderful neighborhood events throughout the year. Be sure to attend the Fourth of July parade, the Halloween Party, the HIA Annual Meeting and many other events.
Hampton Pool
The Hampton Pool is a social focal point for Hampton families and friends. Home of the Hampton Hammerheads swim team, the Pool offers fun throughout the summer. See the Hampton Pool web site for more information.
Shopping
Hampton is within five minutes of a huge array of shopping venues. The Towson Town Center Mall is less than two miles south on Dulaney Valley Road. Just west of Hampton, along York Road, there are a number of service and retail shops.
To the north is Hunt Valley Towne Center, offering an variety of shops in an open, town-like setting.
Recreation
Loch Raven Watershed offers bikers, joggers, hikers and fisherman several hundred acres containing miles of trails and waterfront to enjoy. Just two miles north of Hampton is the Pine Ridge Golf Course and driving range on Dulaney Valley Road. The community pool on Hampton Lane, is a popular place for families to get together for picnics, swimming and fun. The Hampton Swim Team competes against other area swim clubs during the summer.
Education
Continuing Education for Seniors: There is a wonderful learning opportunity in Towson for men and women, 50 and over, at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Towson University. Daytime courses are offered in subjects such as Art History, Music, Film, History, Political Science, Literature, Philosophy, and Natural Sciences with excellent, well-qualified teachers. In addition, social and cultural activities are available.
Classes are held at 7400 York Road where there is free, easily accessible parking.
Save the date, July 24, 2008, for the Preview of Fall, 2008 classes, where the teachers will give a brief overview of their courses. It will be held at the Conference Center at Sheppard Pratt. Classes will begin September 8 and end November 6.

Hampton, Inc.The mission of Historic Hampton, Incorporated is to promote directly the historical, scientific, educational and interpretive activities of the Hampton National Historic Site and to accept gifts, contributions, or loans and otherwise engage in fundraising to finance and pay for the above mentioned activities in respect to which no funds from the Federal Government or other sources are available.

National Historic Site The mansion is now open to the public.

Free Daily Activities at Hampton National Historic Site
- Regularly scheduled tours of the mansion
- Self-guided exploration of the farmhouse and farm. Farmhouse open for visitors. 9:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
- Explore the farm with a Ranger. 40 minute presentation including visit to workers’ quarters 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
- Self guided exploration of the gardens and grounds. 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
- Self guided exploration of the stables and family cemetery. 9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
- Junior Ranger Program: For rangers-to-be between the ages of 7 & 12. Ask about our Junior Ranger Program! Through thought provoking activities in our free booklet, available at the Visitor Desk, explore the history of Hampton and how to help the National Park Service preserve and protect its national treasures. Upon successfully completing the activities, children can receive a certificate and Junior Ranger badge.
The Hampton Improvement Association needs volunteers for a variety of projects and tasks.
